Protected Refugees Immigration

This is not a generic immigration class on the basis of which one can seek permanent residence in Canada as the eligible applicants applying for permanent residence in Canada as primarily the protected refugees are not in Canada for seeking immigration rather they had escaped from their countries of nationalities or former habitual residence due to fear of persecution or life threatening situation because of their religion, social group, political opinion, nationality or torture as defined in the United Nations Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees.

The persecuted foreign nationals claim refugee status either at the point of entry or after entering into Canada at an inland office of Citizenship and Immigration Canada seeking protection of Canada as a refugee.
Once the refugee claimant is determined as a protected person by the Refugee Protection Division of Immigration and Refugee Board then he/she can apply for permanent residence in Canada as a protected person.
